The Fox Fund

The Temple University Fox Fund is a ~50-student virtual investment portfolio that acts as the feeder fund/training program for the Owl Fund.

Spanning the duration of the semester, the Fox Fund is split into two modules: lecture and stock pitches/presentations. During the first several weeks, the program focuses on teaching the fundamentals of accounting, finance, and valuation. Afterwards, the students are split into the following sector teams: Consumer, Energy, Financials, Healthcare, Industrials, and Technology. Each team is required to submit two comprehensive initiating coverage reports on companies within their sector, and then they must pitch their ideas to the directors and their peers, followed by an extensive question and answer session.

Through the Fox Fund, we aim to instill in the students a stronger understanding of financial concepts, the ability to identify an attractive investment opportunity, the ability to write in a business setting, and the presentation skills necessary to pitch and defend an idea.

The Fox Fund is run by three student directors who have previous experience as lead analysts in the Owl Fund.
